The Batman 2 is all but confirmed, which is great news for anyone who left The Batman thinking three hours just wasn’t enough time for Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s take on The Caped Crusader. The only problem so far is that Warner Bros. Pictures has yet to confirm a sequel to this latest Batman reboot.
That said, Matt Reeves and the cast talked about The Batman’s next adventures like they know something we don’t know about The Batman 2. Maybe they solved one of The Riddler’s codes that we haven’t seen yet.
So, let’s break down everything we know about The Batman 2, based on all the clues, secrets, and interviews that have come out since. Enter our bat cave, right? Oh and… this is your spoiler warning.
Batman 2 release date speculation
You don’t have to decode The Riddler’s puzzles to figure out that we’re going to be waiting a bit for The Batman 2. from Comicbook.com Brandon Davis interviewed The Batman producer Dylan Clark, who gave some pretty bad news.
“I’ll record,” Clark said, “and say it’ll be under five.”
This is good news for some, but we think that more than 4 years is a long time to wait.
Does this all sound too vague? That’s the point. clark said cartoon movie that any talk of the sequel is “a bit premature” for the team, as they’re “really focused on getting this movie seen on the big screen by as many people around the world, and hopefully they’ll all say- the, very aloud that they want more.”
Speculation About Batman 2 Characters And Villains
If Selina Kyle is heading to Bludhaven, there’s every reason to think we could see Nightwing’s introduction in The Batman 2, since that’s where he operates. How would Reeves achieve this? Well, we’re not sure.
But sometimes the rumors come straight from the source. In an interview with vanity loungeRobert Pattinson said he was thinking of one of Batman’s best enemies – which has yet to make it to the movies – for The Batman 2. These villains, known as The Court of Owlsare relatively new to Batman, first appearing in the comics when Scott Snyder was writing Batman in 2011.
Here’s what Pattinson said and what his co-star Paul Dano said:
Pattinson: “I really thought Court of Owls would probably be in the sequel.”
Dano: “Oooh, don’t say it.”
Pattinson: “It really seems like – I mean, I’m literally just guessing, I keep saying it.”
Dano: “Court of Owls would be dope. Glad it’s not in this movie.”
Kravitz: “Where is it?”
Dano: “Where is it?”
The Court of Owls, if you don’t know, was a mysterious organized crime group with deep ties to Gotham.
But then there’s also what director Matt Reeves wants. Reaves said Collider that he is interested in making his own version of Mr. Freezesaying “In my opinion, I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything. So for me, it would be a challenge in an interesting way to try to figure out how this could happen, even the idea of something like Mr. Freeze, it’s such a great story, isn’t it? I think there’s actually a grounded version of this story, which could be really powerful and could be really great. “
On top of that, there were rumblings that rataalada.com, the film’s interactive game site, hinted that comic book villain Hush might make an appearance. We cannot get the game to work properly to confirm this.
The Batman 2 Casting Speculation
Right now, it’s impossible to see a new The Batman 2 directed by Robert Pattinson without Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Penguin and Paul Dano as Edward. Nashton/The Riddler.
We also expect Jayme Lawson to return as Gotham’s new mayor, Bella Reál.
Apart from these five? Well, we think we saw a joker in the prison, and we know who it is.
Matt Reeves said IGN that Barry Keoghan is the man who sat in the jail cell next to The Riddler’s. And since this prisoner says “One day you’re on top, the next day you’re a clown”, we’re all supposed to think that’s, in fact, the Joker.
The Batman 2: What We Want
So Batman vs. The Riddler, The Joker, and The Penguin all look fit. But then, of course, you also have that Hush rumor and Reeves’ interest in Mr. Freeze. But there’s another character not mentioned above that we’d love to see in The Batman 2. Poison Ivy herself, Pamela Isley.
That’s partly because The Batman was a very masculine movie. The women of Gotham barely had time to talk, unless they were Catwoman.
We’re sure the Good Doctor could be interpreted in the gritty, realistic way that Reeves favors for these movies. On top of that, Ivy could create an interesting love triangle between Catwoman and Batman.
It’s not just because she could attract Bruce Wayne, but because Zoë Kravitz said Pedestrian that she interpreted Kyle as bisexual. Specifically, Kravitz said she thinks Kyle and Anika “have some sort of romantic relationship.”
